Sage has long been used by indigenous people for its medicinal and cleansing properties. To use it, light a piece of dried sage and blow on the flames so that they go out and the sage begins to smoke. Next, slowly move the smoldering sage into the space you wish to cleanse, being careful not to burn anything else.
